Are you feeling the heat?

In the event that you react please follow these steps:

  1. Use a tissue or other material to wipe any excess balm off the area.

  2. DO NOT USE WATER on the area. Soaps and Water will react with the oils and will INCREASE the effects of the oils and increase absorption. This will only exacerbate symptoms and accelerate the reaction.

  3. Liberally apply any sort of vegetable oil to the area. (Yes this includes the massive bottle of Olive oil next to the stove.) The oils lipids will deactivate and dilute the essential oils and minimise the irritation on your skin.

  4. If your skin continues to react DO NOT REAPPLY the balm.

Everybody is different…

Faced with a new tin of Dingo Heat Balm there are generally four types of users.

The Heedful: These people approach the tin with caution. Usually they open the tin as far away from their body as humanly possible. The tin is wafted from side to side under the nose whilst simultaneously sniffing and wincing at the same time. It takes about three seconds for the fierce aroma to hit the senses and the tears to start. The lid is replaced and the threat of the Dingo Heat is abated for another day.

The Absent Minded: These people see a silver tin and without a second thought…or any thought at all proceed to open the tin and smear it on their lips. Smacking their lips together saying…”What sorta lip balm is this anyways?” Uh…needless to say there have been no repeat offenders.

The Dabber: These people are familiar with heat balms. They open the tin and with little apprehension, hold it close to their nose and inhale sharply careful to not indeed touch the balm with said nose! They instinctively know to use ONE finger to gently pierce the seal on the surface of the balm to release the magic! With a small amount on their finger they smear a little on the right spot/s and wait a minute… With a thankful smile they replace the lid and bask in the glory that is…Dingo Heat Balm. And last but by no means least.

The Latherer: These customers create the greatest of concern. They lather the balm on like body butter. Within 60 seconds it feels like their skin is going to start melting off their body. They then scream, panic and decide to jump in the shower to wash it off which is the #1 WORST thing they could possibly do.Dingo Heat Balm consists of 50% essential oils. It is the way these oils are blended that create the synergistic reaction on our skin. It is this reaction that encourages blood circulation to the area, the fresh oxygen that this blood supply brings aids the healing process. In particular the irritant reaction of some of the oils intercepts the pain pathways to the brain, creating pain relief. These oils are potent and they need to be used appropriately. It is expected that some people will react more strongly than others. This is why it is strongly advised to do a PATCH TEST first to gauge your individual reaction to these oils.

Traditional heat balm brands have a bad reputation for skin reactions.

This is usually in response to the petrochemicals and synthetic oils that are used to make the manufacturing process cheaper. Some brands have stated that a rate of 1:10 users have adverse reactions and these brands are supported by the TGA!

In 9 years of manufacturing Dingo Heat Products, I have had 1 customer have an allergic reaction to the essential oils which was very unfortunate. Please follow the product's instructions. Do not apply the balm near sensitive areas such as the eyes, nose and genitals! Remember to use sparingly and use appropriately so that you can benefit from all the great things Dingo Heat Balm has in its repertoire.
